Features of Rising Stem Ball Valve
Rising Stem Mechanism:
The stem rises and rotates simultaneously, lifting the ball away from the seats during operation.
This minimizes friction and wear on the ball and seats.
Non-Friction Operation:
Unlike traditional ball valves, the sealing surfaces do not rub against each other during opening or closing, reducing torque and extending valve life.
Quarter-Turn Valve:
Provides quick shut-off with a 90° turn of the handle or actuator.
Metal or Soft Seated:
Available in both metal-to-metal and soft-seat configurations, suitable for various pressure and temperature ranges.
Blow-Out Proof Stem:
Ensures safety in high-pressure conditions by preventing the stem from being ejected.
Anti-Static Design:
Prevents static charge buildup in flammable applications.
Fire-Safe Construction (Optional):
Maintains sealing integrity in fire conditions.
Bi-directional Sealing:
Can block flow in either direction.
Applications of Rising Stem Ball Valve
High-Pressure & High-Temperature Services:
Ideal for conditions where conventional ball valves would suffer excessive wear.
Refineries & Petrochemical Plants:
Used in hydrocarbon processing due to tight shutoff and low leakage.
Power Generation:
Especially in steam and boiler systems requiring reliable isolation.
Offshore and Onshore Oil & Gas:
Used in upstream and midstream operations for safe flow control.
Cryogenic Services (with appropriate design):
Suitable for LNG and other cryogenic applications when designed for low temperatures.
Chemical Processing:
Handles corrosive or aggressive media with compatible materials.
Pipeline Systems:
Useful in mainline isolation due to high durability and sealing performance.
Rising Stem Ball Valve
• No Rubbing Between Sealing Surfaces The tilt-and-turn action eliminates seal abrasion,
which is the major cause of seat wear in conventional ball, gate and plug valves• Top-entry Design
In-line inspection and repair, after system depressurizing, simplifies maintenance
